Contract period: 01.05.2012

Purpose of research: Applied research
ENALA is an international project (started 2012) to create a 'European Network for Applied Landart' for initiatives and stakeholders in rural areas and cultural landscapes from 2012 until 2014. It is coordinated and organized by three project partners of Croatia (Europa Nova Foundation), Germany (Anhalt University of Applied Sciences) and the Netherlands (Stichting Streekfestival Het Groene Woud) and is supported by the EU Culture Programme of the European Union. This project developed out of the cooperation of Germany, France and the Netherlands in the initiative 'Euro Land Art'. ENALA wants to encourage the exchange of experiences of landart activities in Europe because landart can be seen as one tool communicating the values of rural areas and cultural landscapes and can help to protect this common heritage. To develop this network there will be several events like conferences and landart weeks in different countries. In 2012 the focuses of activities were in Germany in the villages Lindstedt and Zichtau which belong to the rural region 'Altmark' (Saxony Anhalt) and in Lithuania. In 2013 the focus will be in the partner regions in Croatia, the Netherlands and in two more European countries.
