Contract period: 01.04.2012 - 31.10.2015
Budget: 199,839 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research

Future application: The VICE research project intends to build a framework for surveillance of vector borne diseases. This includes a selection of methods which can be applied. First and foremost these tools will be most important for national governments and international organizations. Furthermore, Oldenburg wants to end up with a holistic view on methodology and general conclusions for the monitoring of vector borne diseases, which shall be helpful in vector monitoring and surveillance in the future. Again, this is to support national governments and international organizations preparing for future challenges (e.g. like Schmallenberg virus) and further EIDs.
