Project code: LTZ177
Contract period: 01.01.2016 - 31.12.2018
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment

The detection of the biodiversity of insects in the field of agriculture and horticulture is gaining importance. The example of the cherry fruit flee (Drosophila Suzukii) is found that statements about the composition of the pests and their antagonists are missing and generally reactions take place only after the appearance of a new pest with research. This also applies to new pests such as the Asian Marbled stinkbug or as yet unknown future pests and their potential opponent. The regularly elevation by LTZ to beneficial insects has shown that the proportion of soft fruits in Baden-Württemberg in recent years has increased in area and economic importance. There is a lack of basic information on the species composition. The investigations in the project promoting natural enemies of pests and bees protection to the target and follow the BLE research program for recording the biodiversity of invertebrates in the agricultural sector in Germany.
