Project code: MRI-OG-02-11
Contract period: 01.01.2001 - 31.07.2018
Purpose of research: Applied research

The identification and characterisation of food-associated microorganisms, e.g. Listeria monocytogenes, Bacillus sp. and enterobacteriaceae with classical, microbiological methods is often difficult and time-consuming. A polyphasic approach in which molecular methods (e.g. species-specific polymerase chain reactions, sequencing of housekeeping genes, RAPD and PFGE typing) are included, leads to a more accurate identification on species and serovar level. New molecular and innovative methods are tested and evaluated under laboratory and practical conditions.
