Purpose of research: Applied research
Will focus on the development of ecologically cultivated fruit varieties in the regional annex in Lower Saxony, Germany. The project partners want to develop especially old and special Apple and pear varieties, which are often characterized by a great genetic diversity. A focus of breeding should be on the vitality and resistance to the fungus causing scab 'Venturia inaequalis'. The resulting new varieties should can be cultivated with less pesticides, be non-profit developed and logically as a common good available.
