The production of vegetables and berries in Germany is lagging behind the demand, as the self-sufficiency rates of 40% and 25% show. The aim of the OG 'Participative Agriculture' is to open up innovative and competitive ways for companies to use new management methods and sales strategies in vegetables and berries. At the same time, the participation in the production of foodstuffs allows farmers and city dwellers to be linked more closely. Along the River Rhine, participatory production and marketing innovations of vegetable / berry production are implemented on two agricultural farms. Vegetables and berries are also suitable for the often rather little space in urban areas, although different participation levels of the citizens are possible. The urban environment requires operational adaptability and innovation, which is going to be supported by participatory agriculture with vegetables and berries. All experiences made on the two farms involved will be analyzed, made accessible to the general public and find their way into the consultation on urban agriculture.
