Development and establishment of a network of companies in Thuringia and surrounding regions which grows hemp, processes fibres and hurds and observes the both in a scientifically way. a) Development and establishment of a network of agricultural companies which have experiences with hemp growth yet or want to get in, b) Development of criteria for growth and quality of suitability of hemp under growing conditions of Thuringia for the process of fibres and hurds into high value products, c) Development and optimisation of a technology for harvesting and processing, d) Development of processing steps for the innovative use of fibres and hurds for the improvement of animal welfare (for ecological husbandry too), inter alia for - materials for the pigs to root and manipulate - floor protection mats for pet areas in poultry farms and passageways in pasture grazing of cattles - comfortable lying mats used in cubicle housing systems of milk cows - small animal litter, e) Development of processing steps for innovative use of fibres and hurds for sustainable packaging, landscaping and horticulture.
