Regional measures for a cost effective reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the cultivation of raw material plants – Sub-Project 3: Data analysis and economic assessment to derive measures (RekoRT)

Project

Project code: 22032918
Contract period: 01.12.2019 - 31.05.2022
Budget: 123,680 Euro
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment

The Federal Government's Climate Action Plan 2050 stipulates that greenhouse gas emissions should be reduced between 31 and 34 percent by 2030. At the same time, the EU- directive 2016/2284 on national emission ceilings requires a 29% reduction of ammonia emissions by 2030 compared to 2005. To achieve these targets, the development of measures to reduce emissions in the agricultural production of renewables is an important part. The aim of the overall RekoRT project is therefore to identify regionally specific and cost-effective measures and recommendations for reducing GHG emissions from the production of renewables taking into account other environmental. The project is subdivided into three work packages (AP), which are handled jointly by the entire consortium: 1. Regional analysis and evaluation of data from previous projects 2. Methodological aspects of environmental assessment 3. Development of measures for GHG-optimized and environmentally friendly production of renewables The measures derived from work packages 1 and 2 should be developed into concrete recommendations for action in order to be used by multipliers (e.g. phytosanitary advisers) and consultants. Therefore, the recommendations for action will be shared with the planned expert network "Greenhouse Gas Assessment and Climate Protection in Agriculture (THeKLa)", so that the recommendations can be iteratively adjusted through the knowledge exchange with farmer, scientists and consultants.
