Collaborative project: Integrated molecular diagnostics for rapid detection of food contaminants - subproject A (CampyTube)
Project
Project code: 281C103A18
Contract period: 15.10.2020
- 14.10.2022
Budget: 298,229 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: microorganisms, product safety, quality control, food processing, poison / toxins, hygiene, poultry, zoonosis, food quality, pharmaceutical products, medical accessory
The aim of the project CampyTube is the development of a simple test system for the rapid detection of microorganisms (Campylobacter spp). The system is developed for on-site use in poultry and meat production facilities and enables detection of the pathogen within max. 45 minutes without a prior cultivation or enrichment. The main focus is on the development of a test that can be carried out without laboratory skills, so that it can be easily implemented on-site for quality control and contamination prevention. The test result (positive / negative) is read visually. Thus, the evaluation can be performed directly by a user without technical skills and equipment.
