The BÖLW and FiBL ranged along the project application for updating and developing the practice of manual 'Bio-products GM-free' one. The work tasks in the joint project are divided into the following topics: The overall goal of the project work is the publication of a comprehensive and updated guide to eco-enterprises in the agriculture and food industry for quality assurance of genetic risks. This builds on the available free and completely www.bioxgen.de practical handbook 'Organic GMO-free'. First, there is an update to the presentation of the legal framework that will apply in relation to the cultivation of GMOs and the other for the protection of GMO-free farming (coexistence). The changed legal situation is practical, grounded and understandable set forth. Even the new version of 'GM' Regulation is a completely new legal framework has shown that one can expect entry of new (eco-) processors in the 'GM' label. Why should this issue be a separate chapter devoted to analyzing the situation and described both the legal and the resulting framework for the practice shown. In addition to updating all the existing chapters of the manual are also significant gaps in the plant be closed. Thus, for example a chapter on organic beekeeper newly incorporated into the manual. The legal situation for organic beekeepers is not yet processed. Also on necessary measures for quality assurance in this area there is no standard understanding. This results in a large uncertainty in the organic beekeeping. Here is the manual provide a comprehensive reappraisal of the legal realities and technological requirements for transparency and contribute to effective decision making by the company. Admission to the cultivation of a GM potato industry was pronounced in early 2010. The companies in the food industry looking for ways to protect their production records. Therefore, the manual should be added to the culture of potato growers in the area. How can the seed production for organic field against GMO contamination to be protected? Also for this issue is a new chapter is intended that the areas will handle breeding, maintenance and reproduction of breeding. The entry of GMOs on operating inputs (fertilizer, pesticides, etc.) and additives (processing aids and additives) is due to the change of EC legislation for organic farming and the new version of the 'GM' - to regulation in the future is more important. The results of BÖL conducted under the project of the additive FiBL be prepared for the Handbook. Require a revision of the economic aspects of the manual. This must be taken into account more recent studies. Where there is no sufficient scientific data base available for the calculation of costs of quality assurance measures to provide concrete examples of best practice are presented. For the newly captured areas have completely new searches are performed. An update and further development of the 'practice manual: Bio-products without genetic engineering' is required, as the Organic Food Industry dispense their own self-understanding on the use of genetic engineering. It is therefore to be avoided for producers and processors of organic food sector is of crucial importance, and records of contamination with GMOs. This introduces the actors constantly changing tasks and challenges. This exercise is facilitated by the development and updating of the manual, especially against the background that in recent years has come too far-reaching changes in the genetic engineering law. The updated and improved manual will give the industry an aid to latest legal status, can be secured and in the future the option on GM-free. It is also within the scope of the project a sustainable future for the update of the practice manual organic products without genetic engineering will be developed by the project participants, which will be based, inter alia, intensified acquisition of sponsorship.
