Purpose of research: Basic research
Due to the current in the public debate about the danger of radioactive substances (especially uranium and its decay products) for human and animal health, there is a specific need for a scientifically-based description of the toxicological effects of uranium concentrations in soils due to the natural development available (pedogenesis) or to anthropogenic influences (eg, use of phosphate fertilizers) are due. The aim of the project is to determine whether and how uranium affects the health and diversity of soil life. From the results of a loadable evaluation is expected that future estimates of potential output is the toxicity of organic phosphate compounds of uranium accompanying a sufficient security. These are necessary for further developments in the fertilizer as a real basis.
