Collaborative project: Site-specific fungicide application in cereals by use of novel sensors (FungiPrecise) - subproject 3
Project
Project code: 2814704711
Contract period: 16.08.2012
- 15.08.2015
Budget: 276,592 Euro
Purpose of research: Experimental development
"In precise fungicide spraying sensors has to be used to control a field sprayer in online application. A correlation between the signals of an ultrasonic and a camera sensor and the two crop parameters freshmass and Leaf Area Index (LAI), characterizing the crop surface, which has to be covered by the spray liquid, was found. In spray experiments in farmers’ fields the spray amount was adapted to the sensor measurements according to the Decision support system proPlant expert. Each spray boom section of a field sprayer was equipped by an ultrasonic sensor (Agri Con) to vary the spray amount. The Precision Farming Module “Fungicide” developed by proPlant is running on the on-board terminal to communicate between the driver and the sprayer. Economic savings of 80 – 140 €/ha were obtained. In case of ATB a camera sensor was installed on the tractor that moved a field sprayer. Compared to a uniform application average savings of 22% could be demonstrated in the 5 camera sensor controlled sprayed fields."
