Possibilities for replanting of strawberries on exhausted soil
Project
Project code: A 15/12
Contract period: 01.04.2015
- 31.10.2018
Budget: 156,810 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Replanting of strawberries in orchards and in exhausted soil is a very complexe problem. Changing field-area is not very probably in main-growing regions generally and will be additionally restricted by missing irrigation-supply. Desinfection of soil is no more allowed. We need solutions to act against the problem of exhausted soil even by changing field and reaching satisfactory economical results referring yield and fruitquality at the same time. That's why, we should look for solutions which can simply be practiced by common growers without an expensive culture of strawberries in channels with special substrate and extra cost for technical equipment which is necessary in specialized glasshouses or tunnels. There will be proofed possibilities as well for Integrated as for Ecological Culture, e.g. like stimulation of soil-organism, increasing soil-structure (e.g. small dams resp. mix soil with substrates) or using special fertilizers of Phosphorus.
