Purpose of research: Conferences and Meetings
On behalf of the BMEL the Institute for Plant Health represents Germany in the mentioned regulation committees. This includes regular participation in meetings, the elaboration of statements on new regulations related to plant health and quality and to come to an agreement with the plant health services of the Federal Länder, the BMEL and other interest groups.
Each year sees appr. 15 meetings of the mentioned committees. They approve appr. 30 directives, decisions or orders. Necessary expertise is provided by the scientists of the Institute for Plant Health, where necessary including other JKI Institutes or external expertise. Approved legislation is binding on all Member States.
