Purpose of research: Networks and research co-ordination
Compilation and analysis of annual monitoring of the Federal Länder on harmful organisms subject to surveys according to EU regulations and notification to the BMELV (Ministry of Agriculture) the EU and EPPO. Elaboration of guidelines and participation in the elaboration of national regulations on harmonized action of the Federal Länder with respect to survey, control, eradication and containment of quarantine and new harmful organisms. Providing of on-spot consultations to the Federal Länder on introduction and eradication. Diagnostic support and provision of check material on quarantine and new non-endemic harmful organisms and verified identification and diagnosis as reference laboratory.
Monitoring program on the following harmful organisms: Diabrotica virgifera virgifera; Gibberella circinata, Pepino mosaic virus, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Phytophthora ramorum, Fusarium circinatum, Dryokosmus kuriphilus and Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, Anoplophora glabripennis and A. chinensis, wood packaging; elaboration of the following guidelines: Clavibacter michiganensis ssp. sepedonicus, Ralstonia solanacearum on Pelargonium, Diabrotica virgifera virgifera; support of the BMEL for the elaboration of emergency and other regulations: Clavibacter michiganensis ssp. sepedonicus, Ralstonia solanacearum, Diabrotica virgifera virgifera, Ordinance on Growing Material; reference laboratory for: Clavibacter michiganensis ssp. sepedonicus, Ralstonia solanacearum and Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, Anoplophora glabripennis and A. chinensis, Diabrotica virgifera virgifera, Ambrosia artemisiifolia; provision of advice to the Federal Länder on the eradication/containment of the following quarantine and new non-endemic harmful organisms: Clavibacter michiganensis ssp. sepedonicus, Ralstonia solanacearum, Diabrotica virgifera virgifera, Diaphania perspectalis, Saperda candida.
