The Center for Research Strategy (CRS) is the successor to the Center for Cluster Development. It promotes cutting-edge research at Freie Universität Berlin. The team at the Center for Research Strategy supports and assists the scholars, scientists, and researchers at the university in developing research alliances, called “Focus Areas.” The CRS offers conceptual consultation services, information, and start-up grants and promotes quality assurance in the Focus Areas (e.g., through evaluations). Its objective is to support the Focus Areas with their project initiatives, increase their public visibility, and – extending beyond short-term joint projects – enhance their appeal to international scholars.
